Last year's art show featured art and illustrations from John 15. This year, we are diving into the theme, "The Heart".  Maybe you have never given it much thought, but the human heart (the desire center, not the one beating in your chest) is one of the most interesting, wild, and wonderful parts of your life.

The heart hurts, it plans, it wants, it leads, and it can even deceive you.

In this year's show, we are taking a look at the heart through various pieces that playfully and thoughtfully provoke our sense of what the heart means to us and God's work within it.

My name is Jonathan Fox. I am passionate about art and my faith.  I love scripture and often times see  fun, bright, bold, and odd ways to create pieces of art. One of my friends described my art not too long ago and I proudly wear it. She said, "your art is depth beneath whimsy". I am not an aspiring artist. I am not trying to be known in the art world.  I do, however, want people to encounter the God of the Bible, and I think art is one of the ways I like to do that. Whether it's digital or physical art, I love creating pieces that are a little more than what you see at first glance.

Warrior is not an art hub.  It's not the center of culture. When most people think art show, they think of going to the city. But art needs to be here in our rural little town.  Why, because art is a massive part of culture.  And in the south, where sports dominate, the arts are often viewed as unnecessary.   So, let's have an art show in Warrior, AL.  Why, because why not? Why not have an experience like this in our area? If there was anything learned from last year, it's that art has room in the rural south.  This ain't the city, but who said art shows are exclusively for city folks...the heart of this art show is to showcase faith and art as a means of seeing more deeply and enjoying an experience as a community. We hope you will come and be a part of that.

There are two opportunities to catch the Art Show, Friday April 17th and Saturday, April 18th.  One ticket gets you access to either of the nights. Both nights are identical and will feature food by Chef Nick with Tuff Love Hospitality, assorted coffee drinks from Makers Coffee, and of course opportunities to view and purchase art at the show.
